We have heard countless accounts of what witnesses believed to have happened between Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson and unarmed black teenager Michael Brown, who Wilson shot dead in August.

According to NY Times, Wilson is finally sharing his side of the story after speaking with authorities who are investigating the case.

According to Wilson, Brown reached for his gun during an altercation inside of Wilson’s police car, causing Wilson to fear for his life.

They state:

It was fired twice in the car, according to forensics tests performed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The first bullet struck Mr. Brown in the arm; the second bullet missed.

The forensics tests showed Mr. Brown’s blood on the gun, as well as on the interior door panel and on Officer Wilson’s uniform. Officer Wilson told the authorities that Mr. Brown had punched and scratched him repeatedly, leaving swelling on his face and cuts on his neck.

Although this story may answer a few questions authorities have, it doesn’t explain why Wilson would shoot at Michael Brown multiple times after he ran from the vehicle.

It also doesn’t speaks to several witness accounts that say Brown had his hands in the air to surrender when he was shot, nor does it provide any insight on whether Brown was facing Wilson and/or approaching him at the time of his death.
