Amber Vinson, the Dallas nurse infected with Ebola, has reportedly recovered from the deadly virus.

Vinson was the second person to contract Ebola in the United States. She contracted the virus after treating Thomas Eric Duncan, the Liberian man who was the first person to be diagnosed with the virus in the U.S., and the first to pass away.

In light of the good news, Vinson’s family released this statement:

“We are overjoyed to announce that, as of yesterday [Tuesday] evening, officials at Emory University Hospital and the Centers for Disease Control are no longer able to detect virus in her body.”

The family also said that Vinson would be transferred out of isolation at the hospital, NBC reported. Reuters also reported the statement.

Although a statement has been issued by Vinson’s family, a spokesperson for Emory University Hospital where Vinson is being cared for says they were not made aware of Vinson being cleared of the virus.

When reached by The Dallas Morning News Wednesday evening, Emory spokesperson Janet Christenbury said she was “not aware of that at all.” She said she would provide an update as soon possible.

Jason McDonald, spokesperson for the CDC, says he is “not aware of any test results.” He hopes to have an update tomorrow.

“Healthcare provider will determine by diagnostic whether a patient is free of Ebola virus,” he says via email. “We have criteria we ask medical staff to meet but the determination is made by medical care provider.”
