A Washington state police officer is being charged with murder, along with several other crimes, after a DNA sample linked him to the killing dating back 30 years.

Daily Mail reports:

Richard Aguirre, 51, a former officer for the Pasco Police Department, was arrested in Spokane earlier this week for the murder of Ruby Doss, 27, who was found strangled on a foggy night in January, 1986.

He became a suspect in the case after DNA taken during an arrest for allegedly sexually assaulting a family member matched that on a condom left at the scene near the young woman.

Police said they anticipate filing rape and voyeurism charges against Aguirre after finding material on his electronic devices.

Witnesses claim that they recall Aguirre picking up prostitutes during that era.

Meanwhile in Colorado, an angry resident brands the SWAT team as ‘thugs’ after they ruined his home with bullets and grenades during a manhunt for a criminal who was locked in his home.

According to Daily Mail,

Leo Lech has been left with $250,000 worth of damage to his home in Greenwood, Colorado, following the 20-hour police shootout.

He says he told the chief of the Greenwood Village Police Department: ‘In any civilized nation … this is the act of paramilitary thugs,’ but he claims that the chief dismissed his comments.

Lech reportedly owned this property for about two years before giving it to his son.
