You were pretty much spared a Macklemore takeover in 2015, but 2016 could be a lot different.

Three years ago, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis took the music industry by storm when their independent album The Heist was nominated for seven Grammys.

The Seattle duo eventually went on to win four trophies, but after their heightened success, Macklemore and Ryan took a step back to focus on family. After dropping “Downtown” in 2015, the two got back in the studio and are currently readying their sophomore effort, This Unruly Mess I’ve Made.

On his site, Macklemore wrote a letter to fans about his forthcoming new project.

“Look at the mess. Not just the one we created, but the one that is the very fabric of our country,” he wrote. “The mess we’re all living in. Stop being silent. Even if it’s not perfect, or politically correct, you have to speak up and you have to listen.”

This Unruly Mess I’ve Made is due out February 26. Check out their new album teaser below.
