Pyer Moss debuted it’s Autumn/Winter 2016 collection today, and it was just as dope as we expected.

Interest has been especially building for this ever since it was announced that Erykah Badu would be styling this season’s show based on the “double-bind” experience. Arriving to MILK Studios with a trunk of her very own accessories, Erykah put the finishing touches on the looks along with the man behind-the-brand, Kerby Jean- Raymond.

Attention to detal is imperative- especially when it comes to an important message in fashion. Buttons worn by the models read “Molly” and “Prozac,” while a choir arranged at the runway performed hip-hop tracks by Future and Fetty Wap. Each aspect was meant to symbolize the confusion that ensues when conflicting demands are placed upon a person- often experienced by Black Americans.

The socially-conscious message, combined with the eccentric aura that seems to go wherever Erykah goes, amount to this being one of our favorite shows of New York Fashion Week thus far. Plus, hearing “RGF Island” played to the tune of an orchestra was pretty damn cool.
