Coolest Thing of The Day: Treehotel

Imagine the most opulent treehouse with your eyes closed, what does it look like?

In northern Sweden 6 incredible tree houses will be opening this month available for guests to revel in. Britta and Kent Lindvall have ceremoniously executed the architecture and design marriage of the century. The Treehotel is designed around nature instead of against it, the architecture lives within the rules of the forest while also following the physics of architecture. On top of the ingenious engineering of the structures, the visual effect is arresting as the structures appear to be hovering over the breath of pine trees.

Putting a sleek new twist on treehugging, the Treehotel offers 6 different houses and over the next five years, a total of 24 will be built with the help of the world’s best architects. Inspired by limitless architecture and motivated to combine urban living with the natural environment, the Treehotel will reinstate elements of nature in everyday living, at least for the duration of our stay.

Supplementary to the 6 main structures, there will be a sauna and a conference room that fits 12 open all year round. Being nestled within nature, of course one of the main goals of the Treehotel is to remain an eco-friendly institution. Accordingly, the electric floor heating system will be energy efficient. The interior design is also meant to be space efficient with electric retractable chairs.
