It seems that they will Deport Dora now. The immigration debate in Arizona has taken another turn, now lawmakers will be targeting children born in the U.S. to illegal immigrants or “anchor baby”. The two leading advocates for this proposal are Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer and Senator Russell Pearce. Senate Bill 1070, which allows law-enforcement officers to ask about someone’s immigration status during traffic stop, detainment or arrest if reasonable suspicion exists.
This new proposal was created by Sen. Pearce, who will likely introduce this new “anchor baby” legislation this fall that would deny birth certificates to children born in Arizona. The thing is the 14th Amendment to the Constitution says “All persons, born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States.” So Republicans have an uphill battle against them in the fall behind this racist and hateful bill, how can we progress in our society when people aren’t giving a chance. The bill is unconstitutional and wrong. We fight for those in Arizona, lets keep the fight going.
