Victoria’s Secret stunner Adriana Lima got a saddening phone call right before stepping out onto the glitter-covered runway at last night’s annual lingerie fashion show. “My husband (NBA star Marko Jaric)called from Europe,” the Brazilian-born supermodel told Global Grind exclusively at the afterparty at LAVO in Midtown. “He was flying in to be here for the show but his flight got cancelled. He was so distraught that he wasn’t going to make it, that he was literally crying, the poor thing,” she said, her face forming a sympathetic frown. “He said, ‘I don’t know what to do,’ and I told him, ‘Baby, don’t worry. I love you. I have your love following me.’ I was sad, but what are you going to do? He got on a later flight, and he’ll be here by midnight, but it was sad that he wasn’t there for the show.”

Lima said she remained strong, put on a brave face and knew she had Jaric’s support. “He told me over and over how he loved me and wished me luck,” she gushed to us, smiling broadly. The beauty donned the two million dollar bombshell bra and strutted her stuff flawlessly — her first time vamping down the catwalk since giving birth to her daughter Valentina. Balancing her new motherly duties with her modeling career has been tough, but she told us her little angel takes priority.

“It’s crazy, but I do love to do the diaper duty, the bath duty, and the sleeping with the baby duty,” she said excitedly. “It’s truly a pleasure. Valentina’s the most beautiful thing to happen to me,” adding that her one year old has done wonders for her self-esteem. “Now, I feel more confident and beautiful. To wake up every day and see her little face and smile, it’s like all of the sudden the whole world changes. Nothing gets to you. You become this strong person. You have to.”

As for how she got her bod back into midriff-baring shape after the birth, Lima revealed her secret workout weapon: boxing. “It’s something I’ve been doing for a while and I love it. Look at this!” Lima said, her eyes growing wide with excitement, as she held out her knuckles — the tops of which were scuffed, cut, battered and bruised. “I go hard,” she beamed. When we asked if she was fighting bare-knuckle, given her battle wounds, she giggled. “No, no, silly. I wrap them, I have a silicone buffer pad and then –of course — I wear gloves. But you can still mess your hands up!” Somehow, we doubt anyone will notice her knuckles when the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show hits CBS on November 30th at 10pm.
