To all those Mac users who are part of the ever growing cult-like following of Apple, there have been several new releases announced, bound to have you on the edge of your seats (or keyboards perhaps)! At Apple’s recent Mac and OS X event, it was announced that many new features and upgrades have been made to various Apple products.

Mac OS X Lion: Apple has made their eighth major release of the ‘world’s most advanced operating system.’ It’s due to release in the summer of 2011.

FaceTime: FaceTime for Mac, is available for download, The third-party app is comparable to iChat, and is likely to release for Windows at some point as well. FaceTime allows people to videochat with iPhone 4 and iPod Touch users from their own computer.

iLife ’11: The new version of iLife includes enhanced versions of iPhoto and iMovie.

New MacBook Air: The new Macbook Airs are faster, lighter, can be turned on instantly (Instant On), and has 30 day standby power.

Multitouch on Macs: With the new OS X Lion, Apple is close to putting multitouch on Macs.

App Store: The App Store is coming to Mac, free and paid-for, as well as new apps for Macs only.
