Day 2/Feb 12th

NBA All-Star Weekend 2010

Hey all! Day two out in Dallas was a smash! Literally. I’ll get back to that, but my crew and I started the day full of energy and ready to tackle the snow-covered streets of gloomy downtown Dallas.

First stop was a gifting suite that made me smile. Right next to where the Jordan Brand was building a event space in grand style for the Michael Jordan dinner later that night,

there were brands like skincare company Carol’s Daughter, Skull Candy headphones and the incredible demo of the DefJam Rapstar video game that’s due out later this year. Check me out doing “Nuttin’ But A G Thang” by Snoop and Dr. Dre. I so shoulda been a rapper!

Next up was the Jordan Suite, which was a totally original space, attached to the W Hotel. The Jordan crew took the raw space and converted it to a sneaker fiend’s paradise. As my boys and I walked up to the venue, we noticed that our entrance was for VIPs (well, you know…what can I say?) As we hit the red carpet and dark mood lighting of the lounge area, I found that I am really hooked on Jordan gear. All these years of marketing and promotion and Jordan’s winning ways have cemented the thought of excellence and Jordan together. I need help people; I drank the Jordan Brand Kool Aid. I travel with Jordan bags (duffle and backpack, ugh) and most likely I’m rocking some early number kicks from over the 25-year collection. This spot was a Jordan shrine. Not one bit of information was left in Beaverton, Oregon (Nike’s headquarters) when they put this historic relic of urban/mainstream culture together for the All-Star fans. I got a chance to play with the interactive wall,
