Don’t judge this book by its cover, anything from hip hop mogul, Jay-Z is bound to be great. In fact, much like its title ‘Decoded,’ that is exactly what this book entails: a literary work that narrates his life and the lives of those in his generation through stories and lyrics. It analyzes and interprets thirty-six of his songs.

Decoded,’ which is set to release November 16th 2010, is the first chance for fans to get a first-hand account of the life of this artist. It is also a narrative of the culture of his generation and how that governed certain attitudes and actions.

Jay-Z explains further, ‘I wanted the book to tell a little bit of the story of my generation, to show the context for the choices we made at a violent and chaotic crossroads in recent history.  And… I wanted the book to show how hip-hop created a way to take a very specific and powerful experience and turn it into a story that everyone in the world could feel and relate to.’

The artwork, which is also his twiticon, is one of the beautiful images from Andy Warhol’s 1984 ‘Rorschach’ pictures. Check it out!
