Purple, blonde, green, blue, what do all these colors have in common? To an artist probably not much, but to The New York Times proclaimed ‘Cindy Sherman of rap,’ Nicki Minaj, it’s her way of expressing herself through style, her hair in particular. In an article for Paper Magazine, Nicki refers to her style as ‘hiphop meets couture meets crazed lunatic…um yeah.’ That statement explains it all.
For now it seems as though we should say goodbye to Nicki Lewinsky. and hello to Harujuku Barbie, but who knows how much Harujuku Barbie we will be seeing before Nicki comes up with a new persona.
