News just came through the wire that Fabolous just teamed up with Reebok to do a line strictly for footlocker as well as a concert series to support the product. Knowing that Reebok is trying to swim in a sneaker pool with Nike the Great White Shark I know they have to get creative to sell units, but to me with an artist like Fab they picked the worst shoes in the collection for him to rep. It made me wonder when do artist and athletes draw the line between getting a check and actually supporting product that they believe are hot?  How many pair of Reeboks do you think Fab had in his closet before the deal? Does Tiger really drive a Buick and does Jeter really whip around in a Ford Fusion?

At the end of the day I guess you have to get paid but also remember as a superstar you also have a social responsibility to those that look up to you and follow your lead. Fab has one of the hottest albums out right now so I’ll definitely be at the concert but as for running down to footlocker to cop those RBK’s ……… No Dice!
