Little Jasiah McCollins was upstairs at two o’clock Sunday morning when someone broke into the home on the 9900 block of Winthrop on the city’s west side. A Molotov cocktail was thrown into the window, Jasiah died in the fire that was believed to be intentionally set.
A 17 year-old babysitter, who was inside at the time of the blaze, told reporters she was with a four year-old girl downstairs, while Jasiah was sleeping upstairs. The teen says she heard a bang from the kitchen and seconds later saw a man inside pouring something on the kitchen floor.
