Jay-Z will soon be calling The Barclay center his concert home. Big plans are underway already for performances once the new arena is built in his home town, yet nothing will compare to his historic shows at Madison Square Garden. The rapper spoke with MTV about his most recent performance at the arena, stating ‘anytime you play the Garden is a special moment. It’s special.’
He went on to talk about the special apperance Lil Wayne made at the concert, which was his last live performance before being going to jail.
‘Wayne, how that worked out, he was supposed to go away for a year. Somehow he was able to perform that last show. He came out to an incredible reaction. then Drake, Nicki Minaj-all on Jeezy’s set, which was fantastic. Then Trey Songz and Fabulous. It’s one of those magical nights at the Garden.’
On Thursday Jay-Z, part owner of the NBA Nets, attended the ground breaking ceremony for the new sports center.
