Whatever lengths Drake went to prevent his album from leaking, it wasn’t quite enough because slowly but surely, Thank Me Later is leaking; so much so, he might just have to change the title to Thank Me Now.
Ladies and gentlemen, the latest song to come from Drake’s highly anticipated debut, ‘Light It Up’ featuring Jay-Z.
Sure, there are some Evil Empire tags dispersed throughout, but not enough to distract from the beauty that is this cut produced by two of Drake’s in-house team, Noah ’40’ Shebib and Tone Mason. Whatever expectations we had for Drizzy and Hov, ‘Light It Up’ meets them, at least far better than their first collaboration, ‘Off That’, which designated Drake to a hook.
On this one, Drake and Jay-Z handle a verse a piece, and just because we know it’s going to be the topic of the debate for the next weekend, we’re going to call it now. Jay-Z’s verse > Drake’s verse. But that’s us. We’d love to hear what you all think.
