Cam’Ron and his new protégé Vado made a surprise appearance at last night’s XXL Freshman 10 showcase at the Highline Ballroom in New York City. The pair performed songs from Killa’s DJ Drama-assisted Boss of All Bosses mixtapes, and according to many who were in attendance they stole the show. Many feel that Vado was unfairly left off of the XXL list, which didn’t feature any NY emcees. In a recent interview on True Stories Radio, Young Money emcee Jae Millz went in on the XXL list, stating “can’t no nigga tell me that my nigga Vado shouldn’t be on that cover.”
It seems that while he didn’t make the list, Vado has gained more publicity from being left off than some emcees gained from being included on the list. Be on the lookout for Vado’s mixtape Slime Flu, which should be dropping soon, as well as Cam’ron’s Boss of All Bosses 2.5.
