It’s been an interesting 5th season for ‘America’s Got Talent,’ filled with amazing acts ranging from singing and dancing, to magic and even air-guitar. Nonetheless, America’s Got Talent has chosen their 5th winner, Michael Grimm, the blues-rocker from Waveland, Mississippi. Grimm wowed audiences with performances of ‘Try a Little Tenderness,’ ‘Tired of Being Alone,’ ‘You Can Leave Your Hat On,’ ‘Let’s Stay Together,’ and ‘When a Man Loves a Woman.’
Although many handicappers chose 10-year-old opera singer, Jackie Evancho, as the favorite to win this season, it appears that Grimm, who many times expressed himself lucky to even be in competition, has beaten all odds to take home the crown.
As the winner of the 5th season, Grimm was awarded the $1,000,000 prize and will headline the America’s Got Talent Live Tour. He will also get the chance to perform in Las Vegas at Caesar’s Palace Casino for one year.
Auditions were held in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Portland, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and for the first time, online via YouTube.
