In an unexpected turn of fate, a young family that was traveling to Oklahoma City experiences epic tragedy.
A New Mexico woman shot and killed herself in the chest after asking, and failing, her daughter to do so for her. The woman, who police says was suffering an attack that made it hard for her to breathe, turned to her 9-year-old daughter and asked her to shoot her with a 9 mm gun. After the girl refused, the woman fired a shot into her own chest causing the car to roll to a stop on the side of the road. The young child, who was not injured, told police that her mother has had these kind of ‘asthma’ attacks before, but has never seemed suicidal.
‘She told her to shoot her. And she wouldn’t,’ State police Lt. Roman Jimenez said. ‘The daughter said she has had these kinds of attacks before, but she’d never been suicidal.’
The young child, along with 2 dogs that were also in the car, were taken into custody and the women’s body was transported to Albuquerque, New Mexico for an autopsy.
