The summer heat started early this year, and so did the great summer blockbusters! Many of the movies released this summer were some of the most anticipated blockbusters for the year. The movies ranged from sequels of past hit films to re-makes of some classics. With the summer coming to an end faster than we’d all like, at least we can take a look back at some of the great films that hit the theaters this summer.
The Karate Kid came out this June topping the box office. Jaden Smith showed us his amazing talent on the big screen, but then again did we really expect any less from the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith?

Iron Man 2 hit theaters in early May starring Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle. It came in as the fifth highest opening weekend doing extremely well in theaters. We’ve been anticipating this sequel since 2008, when Iron Man was released. Now we can look forward to a part 3 which should be in theaters by 2013.

Takers came out last weekend, ending off the summer great! Idris Elba, T.I, Paul Walker, Michael Ealy, Hayden Christensen, Zoe Saldana. With such a sexy and talented cast how could we go wrong. This movie was previewing in theaters since last winter!

The movies were for everyone this summer, both young and old. Toy Story 3 came out this summer. There were more teenagers and adults than kids in the theaters for this one.
Toy Story is such a classic and we’ve all been waiting years to for this! The movie grossed over a billion dollars this summer alone!
