While police continue to investigate the Range Rover-motorcycle crew incident that occurred in NYC on Sunday, a biker who was injured in the chaos may be paralyzed for life.

Edwin Mieses Jr. suffered broken legs and spinal injuries when the driver of the Range Rover sped off, crushing him as he tried to get away.

His wife, Dayana Mieses, spoke out on Tuesday.

“There’s no hope for his back,” Dayana Mieses told reporters. “They crushed his spine. They broke it in two different places, so he will be forever, forever paralyzed.”

“Everyone wants to blame the bikers for something this man did,” she said.

The man, who bikers chased and then beat up, is garnering support from those believing that the bikers ambushed his truck. Two bikers have already turned themselves in for their part in the beating. But Mieses says her husband is clearly the victim in this case.

“When all the bikers stopped, my husband got out, parked his bike to walk over to try to help his friend,” she said. “He walked over towards the front of the vehicle when, at this point, I don’t know what happened: the man was scared, the man just peeled off and ran over my husband.”

According to ABC, Edwin Mieses, known as Jay Meezee, is an aspiring rapper from outside Boston, and the couple has two children, ages 15 and 9. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family at this time.
