Now this is pretty epic…and brave.

Featherweight contender Orlando Cruz will make a huge statement Saturday night during his fight with Orlando Salido at the Thomas & Mack Center (on the undercard of the Timothy Bradley-Juan Manuel Marquez pay-per-view).

He’ll wear pink boxing gloves and a rainbow inspired get-up.

And not just because he’s the first openly-gay boxer in the ring. He’s also showing support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and raising awareness about LGBT issues in his community.

Everlast made the trunks and the gloves in collaboration with Cruz.

According to Yahoo Sports, Cruz, who is scheduled to marry boyfriend Jose Manuel in New York on Nov. 16, is 20-2-1 with 10 knockouts. Salido is 39-12-2 with 27 KOs.

Kudos to him and good luck in the ring! What he’s doing is super big in the sports world and we applaud him.
