Last night was a pre-holiday affair, as the red carpet was rolled out to celebrate the New York premiere of Black Nativity at the historic Apollo Theater. While the red carpet is typically dominated by the ladies and their stunning gowns, last night was all about the fellas, who extended their wardrobe vies beyond the black suits.

But before we get to the guys, let’s talk about the three standout ladies on the red carpet: Jennifer Hudson, Zendaya Coleman and Angela Bassett.

For the occasion, JHud opted to show off her bod in a sexy mesh paneled LBD, accented with a dark wine lip, while Zendaya kept things more age-appropriate in a black turtleneck paired with a leather jacket and a white skirt reminiscent of snowfall, and so very appropriate for this particular night.

Angela Bassett was just out there stunting in a metallic mini-dress paired with black pumps.

Tyrese was on the scene, opting for a suitable color combo in a burgundy shirt paired with a navy tie and a suit fitting to perfection. Men, take note on the power of a good suit.

Luke James opted for a navy look with a tuxedo shirt, a knee-length coat paired with black pants and buckled boots. Clean, yet modern with a bit of edge.

And Nas kept it nasty (in the best way), opting for a leather vest over a green cardigan accessorized with a huge chain, a furrowed brow and a scowl.

Check out some interviews on the red carpet of the screening in the video below.
