It’s been more than a year since Kile Glover, the son of Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Raymond died in a boating accident on a Georgia lake but the memory of his life is living on.

This Saturday morning the proud mom is scheduled to honor her son with the first Give Thanks 5K run/walk at at Chastain Park in Atlanta.

On the quest to raise money for the Kile’s World Foundation she started for art initiatives and upcoming camps, she says:

‘I know when I’ll be running, I will be thinking of him,”

Kile was run over by a personal watercraft on Lake Lanier, northeast of Atlanta, last year and sadly died two weeks after being critically injured in the accident.

Tameka adds:

‘I’m thinking about him every day, but he was my running buddy,’ she continued. ‘That’s who I used to do my neighbourhood jogs with all the time. He would be the only one who would be like, “Let’s go, mom”. He kept me going.’

As for Usher being in attendance, his ex-wife says he couldn’t make it due to his schedule of filming. The singer is working on his role in the movie Hands Of Stone, in which he will be playing Sugar Ray Leonard. She says:

‘It’s safe to assume that he’s supportive in my efforts,’ she said. ‘He loves Kile. I think he’s supportive.’

Welp, we’re sure the run will be a success anyway! Go Tameka!
