On Dec. 1, the day civil rights activist Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give her bus seat up to a white man 58 years ago, the GOP tweeted out what was supposed to be a tribute to the late icon, but instead angered the internet by suggesting that racism was over. The message was mocked on Twitter and even started the hashtag, #RacismEndedWhen, which sparked some hilarious but sobering “post-racial” misconceptions (how about racism ended when the Jeffersons moved on up). Now, this is genius. Television viewers in Bismarck, N.D. were given a hilarious surprise this weekend when Ron Burgundy of Anchorman (aka Will Ferrell) decided to host the local newscast as promotion for the highly-anticipated sequel. And yes, Ferrell reprised his sexist, ridiculous Burgundy role with perfection, even dressing in his signature rust-colored three-piece suit and a striped tie, reporting the news in an exaggerated manner and inappropriately telling co-anchor Amber Schatz that she looked “lovely.” Watch it here…[YouTube]

Oh, this is why the 113th Congress is on track to be the least productive in modern history. While the rest of us will be working up until the actual Christmas holiday, members of the U.S. House of Representatives are only scheduled to work eight more days between now and January 7, when they will return for the second session. Black Friday sales might have been down this year, but the fights, well, those were on the rise. During a huge brawl inside the Franklin Mills Mall in Philadelphia, a woman pulled out a Taser and stunned the woman she was fighting.
