UPDATE: Jamies Winston responds to the people talking about the way he talks. Jameis tweeted:

Last night, Jameis Winston led his team to win the BCS National Championship and he has some haters. The Heisman Trophy winner led the Florida State Seminoles in a come from behind victory over the Auburn Tigers and after his emotional post game interview a rival quarterback’s mother started hating.

It was the mother of last year’s National Championship winner, AJ McCarran‘s mother Dee Dee, who asked “Am I listening to English?”  She was immediately slammed with mentions from people accusing her of being racist. Jameis was emotional, out of breath, excited, and not to mention has an obvious southern drawl,  but he, without a shadow of a doubt, spoke English. See for yourself.

“I said guys, we didn’t come here for no reason,” Winston said. “I said, ‘Guys, this is ours, man.’ All the adversity we went through the first few quarters, it was ours to take. And like I’ve been saying, we control our own destiny, And those men looked me in my eye and said ‘We got this Jameis.’ I said, ‘Are you strong?’ They said, ‘I’m strong if you strong.’ I said, ‘We strong then.'”

After getting the backlash Aj’s mother Dee Dee deleted the tweet and apologized saying:

Do you think AJ MacCarron’s mother was being a racist or just a hater?
