Lady Gaga does not want to be compared to Katy Perry, in any form or fashion.
That much was made clear during the 27-year-old superstar’s SXSW 2014 keynote speech on Friday, where she discussed being different, her vomit stunt during thursday’s SXSW concert, and more.
Dressed in clear trash bags from head-to-toe, Gaga told her little monsters:
“I don’t know what the fuck I have to do with Katy Perry. My music is so completely different and I couldn’t be more different.”
Well damn.
Gaga also dished on being puked on the day before during a performance – a controversial stunt that many didn’t find appealing or amusing.
“I asked my publicist if she quit in the middle of the show!”
Mother Monster went on:
“It was just exciting to see people talk about performance art on the internet. We really just did it because we believe in the performance and we believe in what it meant to the song.”
If you missed it, Demi Lovato recently spoke out against Gaga’s “art,” and argued that it was, in fact, just “glamorizing” eating disorders.
