At the end of it all, Drake is just a cool dude.

The “Draft Day” rapper’s most recent endeavor will have him venturing further into the athletic world, and hopefully acting a fool publicly, as he is all set to host the ESPYs.

Yesterday, the Toronto Raptor Global Ambassador took to twitter to announce the big news:

After letting the world know he’d be following in the footsteps of superstars like Justin Timberlake, Seth Rogen, and Jamie Foxx, Drizzy stopped by ESPN’s “NBA Countdown” to talk all about his lifelong dream of hosting the ESPYs, growing up as a basketball fan in Canada, and more.

“It’s been a dream of mine for a long time. I’ve watched a guy that I look up to in every aspect of life, Jamie Foxx, do it and I always say, ‘if I can follow in his footsteps that would be a great career for me.’ So, I was blessed with the opportunity to do it. SNL gave me the confidence to do it and here I am.”

He also talked about the controversial shirt (seen above) that had critics questioning his loyalty to the Kentucky Wildcats after their loss to the Connecticut Huskies on Monday. Drake assures us he is NOT wearing a UConn shirt.

Check out the interview up top and below. Will you be tuning in to the Nokia Theatre on July 16th for his big night? You know Rihanna will.
