Is a red carpet really a red carpet if Lupita Nyong’o doesn’t appear? We say no. So when we knew she’d be making her Met Gala debut this year, we could. not. wait. Could she ever outdo that Prada gown that won the red carpet of the Academy Awards earlier this year?
Well, this evening, the Oscar-winning actress attempted to, and needless to say, her look surprised us all. It was indeed from Prada once again (no surprise there), but we weren’t prepared for this one. Keep in mind that the theme this year is “white tie with decorations,” and boy, is she really decked out–from headband to toe.
Beads. Feathers. Sequins. She had it all in her ensemble. All of it. Channeling a 1920s flapper, Lupita twirled her way down the red carpet. Check out her outfit below.
