UPDATE: 2:30 PM EST
Officials have identified the shooters who killed two Las Vegas police officers and a civilian as Jerad Miller, 31 and his wife Amanda, 22.
The two are pictured below:
Two Las Vegas police officers are dead after a married couple yelling “revolution” unleashed gunfire near a pizza shop and a Walmart parking lot, where they killed a woman in the store.
Officers Alyn Beck, 41, and Igor Soldo, 31, were married with children. Beck left behind a wife and three children; Soldo, a wife and a baby.
The couple, whose shooting spree is suspected to be politically motivated, ended the carnage only when the wife shot the husband and then herself as police closed in. Police have not confirmed the motive, but investigators found what appears to be a “manifesto” at one of the scenes, a law enforcement official told CNN Monday. A law enforcement source also told CNN the couple held extremist views toward police.
In addition to the writings, investigators also found flags or insignias with markings on them and two backpacks at the scene. It’s not known what, if anything, was found in the them, the source said.
Investigators also are going through the couple’s social media postings, the official said.
Witnesses told police the shooters said “This is a revolution” during their attack.
The pair began their attack about 11:20 a.m. when they opened fire inside a CiCi’s Pizza where the officers were eating lunch.
“I just sat down to have lunch. The officers were sitting in front of me, at the table right next to me — and this man came in out of nowhere,” a dazed Sheree Burns told CNN affiliate KTNV.
“I thought he was going to get a drink, the way he walked up and walked past them. And then he turned around, pulled a gun on his right and shot the bald officer in front of me.”
The suspects took the officers’ guns and ammunition, Assistant Sheriff Kevin MacMahill told reporters. The pair ran over to a Walmart across the parking lot. At the store’s entrance, they killed a woman.
The woman’s identity has not been released. Police are continuing their investigation.
