On Tuesday afternoon, a student was killed in a shooting at Reynolds High School in Troutdale, just outside of Portland, Oregon.

According to police, there was only one shooter involved in the incident. The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office reports that the suspected shooter is dead.

“A semiautomatic weapon was involved in the shooting,” says Sue Strickland of the Troutdale Police Department.

Strickland confirmed that the shooter was a male teen. However, she could not confirm if he was a student at the school. Students were evacuated from the building shortly after the incident. About an hour after the shooting, Oregon State Police confirmed that the area was clear.
