Hold the phone: Production on Lifetime’s Aaliyah biopic might have to come to a screeching halt. Aaliyah’s family is not OK with the fact that Lifetime didn’t contact them for permission to use her music or story. The family intends to do everything they can to stop the release of a TV movie, but are not opposed to a big-screen film, reports TMZ.
Speaking of the biopic, Zendaya Coleman, who was cast to play Aaliyah, has been receiving some major backlash from the R&B singer’s fans. The Disney starlet took to Twitter to set the record straight in a positive way:
I’m just a 17 year old girl who got cast to play one of her biggest inspirations #positive
