Earlier this week rumors were swirling that Richard Pryor was the latest celebrity to be memorialized with his very own biopic.
The rumors were only fueled by a photo uploaded to Instagram by Nick Cannon. The black and white photo showed a side-by-side of Pryor before his death and Cannon at present, but it was the caption that really got rumors flying.
“Picking up smoking cigarettes for the next few months so forgive me if I smell like and ashtry. #KidsDontTryThis #CancerSticksSuck #AnythingForTheCraft #HopeIDontGetAddicted”
He also added:
“#TBT I’m feeling his spirit. I hope y’all ready for the next level in my career. #GameChanger #Pryor”
Despite the seemingly telling photos, Nick never confirmed that he was playing a part in the film. He did, however, have something to say about it in an interview with TMZ and again during a sit down with Hot 97.
Even with all his preparations, some seem to believe he isn’t right for the role. According to TMZ, Richard’s widow seems to believe Terrence Howard would be better for the part.
Jennifer Pryor says Nick was too quick to assume he’d be picked for the role and claims Lee Daniels, the film’s director, is still auditioning actors for the lead. Pryor’s children also want a say in which actor will play their late father. They’re reportedly hoping that Marlon Wayans will sign on for the role.

The late night TV host suited up in a flesh-colored body suit and blonde wig to boogie down with the video’s star, 11-year-old Maddie Ziegler. Jimmy wasn’t the only newbie dancer last night. He was joined by his trusty sidekick Guillermo.

Michele’s not the only Glee star who’s been hacked in the last few days. Chris Colfer seemingly sent out a tweet announcing that he was leaving the show for personal reasons. Not long after the tweet was sent out Chris’ rep set the record straight, revealing that Chris was on an airplane at the time the message was sent.
