He’s got the gas, and the coke, and scary ass doll heads.
With his popularity growing, journalists and fans want to know everything about the “I Don’t Sell Molly No More” rapper. Thankfully, MissInfo got the chance to sit down with ILoveMakonnen to chat about Drake, being classified as a “weirdo,” Gucci Mane, and of course, his newfound fame.
But what everyone really wants to know is, what the f*ck is up with those creepy ass doll heads on Makonnen’s Instagram?
Well, the good folks over at PigeonsandPlanes got the scoop, and the story is quite interesting.
Apparently, ILoveMakonnen was once enrolled in cosmetology school and was studying to become a colorist. To differentiate his doll head from everyone else’s, he used to draw on its face and from there, the doll head became a permanent staple in his life.
They were worried it was gonna scare people and no one was gonna want to come and get their hair done, and I’d just be like, “I’m trying to do shit for the circus, not regular bitches’ hair!”
That’s when people started catching on. They were like, ‘Oh, this is artsy, this is scary.’ It’s a brand now. The whole message behind it was don’t judge a book by its cover. Like, are you not gonna get open heart surgery because the surgeon looks a certain way?
Then when I wanted to start putting out music videos, I needed someone to film but no one believed in my music so I just started filming my doll head. That’s when people started catching on. They were like, “Oh, this is artsy, this is scary.” It’s a brand now. The whole message behind it was don’t judge a book by its cover. Like, are you not gonna get open heart surgery because the surgeon looks a certain way?
Y’all know what day it is. Yup, Tuesday!
So we’re sending our galleries up with these creepy, yet cool pictures of Makonnen’s beloved doll head.
