There’s a new officer in Litchfield, y’all.

Marsha Stephanie Blake has officially joined the cast of Orange Is The New Black, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

There are currently very few details about Blake’s character on the series, but she will be playing a corrections officer in the women’s penitentiary in the upcoming season.

Prior to her role on Jenji Kohan’s hit series, Blake worked on movies and shows such as Django Unchained and GIRLS. Other new additions to the series include Mike Birbiglia, Mary Steenburgen, and Blair Brown.

Actor Terry Crews had a thing or two to say about the video footage of former NFL player Ray Rice hitting his wife.

The Brooklyn Nine-Nine funny-man wasn’t laughing when a reporter asked for his thoughts on domestic violence, more specifically the incident that occurred between Janay Palmer and Ray Rice earlier this year.

“When I saw the video I was immediately taken back to my childhood,” he told Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier.

“This is the way I grew up,” he revealed. “I used to watch this happen over and over again. It was a post-traumatic stress experience for me.”

“I used to watch my father hit my mother in the face and watch her go down and there was some things that just affected me more than I don’t think anyone could realize,” he added.

Crews, who once played pro-football, also shared his thoughts on Rice’s punishment, which many have said was too harsh, and the NFL’s handling of the situation. The league’s commissioner, Roger Goodell, claimed he and the rest of the league didn’t see the footage until earlier this week. The casino in which the incident occurred, however, disputes that fact, saying they sent the footage to them nearly five months ago.

“The NFL culture, the sports culture, has decided that they are more valuable than women,” he said.

“I’ve heard people laugh about keeping their pimp hand strong and keeping her in control so that she knows her place,” he went on. “But think about how evil that is, for one man to think that he’s actually more valuable than a woman, because as a human being your worth is immeasurable.”
