A few days ago, Vogue magazine published an online article praising the derriere of women. The article, which was geared toward Jennifer Lopez‘s upcoming video release for her song “Booty,” describes the history of women’s backsides in the fashion industry.

Entitled “We’re Officially in the Era of the Big Booty,” the writer tells viewers:

For years it was exactly the opposite; a large butt was not something one aspired to, rather something one tried to tame in countless exercise classes,” the writer mused. “Even in fashion, that daring creative space where nothing is ever off limits, the booty has traditionally been shunned.

The article goes on to mention Kim Kardashian‘s endless booty pics and Beyonce‘s sexy video for “Partition,” citing the big booty as a new trend.

Of course, with such a controversial title, that kind of makes it sound like big booties just recently started to exist, critics didn’t let the high-end fashion mag slide.

Fellow tweeters slammed the magazine in a humorous way by creating the trending topic #VogueArticles. Check out how viewers mocked the magazine’s latest article:

Can you blame people for being disgruntled? Obviously, black women have had big booties for a very long time… and black women have been proud of ’em too.
