UPDATE: 10/08/14, 3:45 P.M.

ABC has announced Stephen Collins’ scenes from the fourth season of Scandal will be left on the cutting room floor after the actor’s alleged child molestion confessions came to light this week.

We can confirm that we will not be airing any footage with Stephen Collins,” a rep for ABC told BuzzFeed News. The actor previously played anchorman Reed Wallace in the Season 2 episode, “Happy Birthday, Mr. President.” Collins tweeted he’d be returning for a Season 4 episode in September.

Former 7th Heaven actor Stephen Collins is alive and debatably well after a false shooting was reported at his rental home in Tarzana, California Tuesday night.

According to the Huffington Post, police were called to the home after shots were allegedly fired. Former Baywatch actress Donna D’Errico tweeted claims from a neighbor that Collins had committed suicide after allegations of child molestation against him went public yesterday.

Police responded to reports of a gunshot at the Los Angeles home of actor Stephen Collins on Tuesday night, but say reports the “7th Heaven” star had shot himself are untrue.

Collins had been in the news all day after he was reportedly heard on a recording obtained by TMZ confessing to child molestation and exposing himself.

He was then fired from his role on the film “Ted 2,” and resigned from the National Board of the Screen Actors Guild. In addition, the New York Police Department said it was investigating a complaint filed in 2012 over allegations of lewd conduct on an underage girl in 1972.

On Tuesday night, someone reported a gunshot at Collins’ home in the Tarzana neighborhood. The Los Angeles Police Department told Buzzfeed that officers responded, but didn’t find anything.

Meanwhile, Collins’ lawyers have released several statements stating the actor’s wife released the recordings of his alleged confession to the public in an effort to extort him for millions of dollars. Lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan says once wife Faye Grant was unable to get the actor to budge on her demands, she took matters into her own hands and leaked the recordings to the public.

From TMZ:

“Over the course of my representation of Stephen in the divorce case, Faye has repeatedly threatened to give this audiotape to the media unless Stephen agreed to pay her millions of dollars more than that to which she was legally entitled.”

Kaplan goes on, “When these demands were rebuffed, Faye attempted — without success — to peddle the tape in numerous ways to numerous different people.  It appears that she has finally found an audience for this tape — not surprisingly, on the eve of the trial in the divorce case where, again, she is seeking millions of dollars more than that to which she is legally entitled.”

Kaplan says he cannot comment on the tape itself. In the recordings, the disgraced actor allegedly confesses to touching three underage girls when he was 25-years-old.

Grant also claims there were signs of the actor’s pedophilia before their daughter was born. She says Collins told her he was happy he was having a girl, because he would have been tempted to touch a boy.

“The comment you made just before I gave birth to our daughter when you said you hoped we didn’t have a little boy, because ‘you just didn’t know if you could keep his little penis out of your mouth’ was indication enough that you were sick …” she says in an email.

Grant goes on to regretfully say, “I should have followed my gut then, and then again 14 years ago, and kicked your ass to the curb.”

Collins’ reps say the emails are “absolutely false.”
