Two years after the original release date, Azealia Banks finally dropped her oft-delayed debut album Broke with Expensive Taste. And all it took was a tweet:
Voila!!!! Here it is… “Broke With Expensive Taste!” http://t.co/JpZOp38kdR … Enjoy! pic.twitter.com/hA4eDvFO33

And like that, without any prior warning, Banks released her album. Or, in more succinct terms, she pulled a Beyonce. And it was a success. The album’s title was trending worldwide. And it shot up the iTunes charts, going all the way to number three. Azealia has spent the last ten-plus hours just glowing on Twitter. She began releasing the lyrics to the songs, and she’s also been dropping little tidbits about the album:
I know this is hella petty, but I need y’all to know that I a&r’d that record myself.. No help from polydor or interscope. — AZEALIA ⚓️ BANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) November 7, 2014
I am the executive producer, everything…. ,my blood sweat and tears literally went into the making of this album.

Listen, if you’re still an Azealia fan, hook the girl up; cop the album.
