It looks like Nasty Gal is losing their biggest #GirlBoss.

The author of the famous inspirational book, Sophia Amoruso, who is CEO of the popular fashion company, has announced that she is stepping down from her title.

The company made the announcement about the change earlier today, where President Sheree Waterson will take on the position.

Sophia isn’t leaving the company for good, however, as she will remain an executive chairman, and will oversee the creative and brand marketing teams.

She revealed in her own announcements:

“Today is an incredible day at Nasty Gal,” Amoruso said. “Sheree brings a wealth of experience in both business and leadership that will help guide us into the next phases of our growth. In the past 11 months alone, we have already seen the impacts of Sheree’s strategic thinking and approach in our product offering and experience. She has established herself as an inspiring leader here at Nasty Gal and I am confident in her ability to execute on our vision.”

Sheree had kind words to say of the news with the company as well:

“I am excited to support Sophia and lead Nasty Gal in this new chapter. We have an incredible team that has made huge strides in a short time and I look forward to executing on the significant opportunity ahead of us. The future is bright.”

What do you think of the changes being made in Nasty Gal, with Sophia stepping down?
