Over the weekend, the Angie Tribeca actress hit the 21st annual SAG Awards red carpet and things got awkward.
During an interview with TNT’s red carpet correspondent Danielle Demski, she noted that Rashida was looking darker than usual. “You look like you’ve just come off an island or something,” Danielle Demski told Rashida. “You’re very tan. Very tropical.”
Being the comedienne she is, Rashida – who’s biracial – corrected Danielle Demski saying, “I mean, you know, I’m ethnic.”
Cue up the uncomfortable laughter.
Danielle Demski’s co-anchor JD Heyman attempted to make the moment less awkward by saying, “me too.” But damage was already done.
