Tracy Morgan gave his first interview since the horrifying car crash he was involved in last year. Tracy sat down with Matt Lauer from The Today Show and opened up, revealing the pain caused by the accident will always be there.

“The case is settled, but the pain is always going to be there for Jimmy Mac,” Morgan said in his first interview since the deadly car crash.

“Bones heal, but the loss of my friend will never heal.”

The 30 Rock star broke down as he talked about losing his friend James McNair in the accident, and told the story of the last time he saw him alive, which you can hear about above.

In the interview, we also found out that the CEO of Walmart reached out to Tracy and will meet with the actor later this week to personally apologize to him.

Tracy is humbled and grateful to be alive.

“I can’t believe I’m here. I can’t believe I’m in front of you,” he told Lauer, speaking clearly but often overcome by emotion. “I can’t believe I’m just here, and just seeing the tragedy that happened. It touches me.”
