Amazon Studios has been the rumored sponsor for Spike Lee‘s newest movie Chi-Raq for quite some time now, and today, they spilled the beans to THR that the company is indeed backing the awards-qualifying film.

Lee and Amazon originally planned to premiere Chi-Raq at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, but they’re so hype about it, they’re now hoping to squeeze it into this year’s awards season. In that case, the movie would officially open to the public after the new year, first in theaters and then available to Amazon Prime customers shortly afterwards.

Movie production chief Ted Hope said:

“We couldn’t have come up with a better film to launch our division in every which way. Chi-Raq makes no apologies and dares to shock.”

We can’t wait.

This is probably the most shocking news we’ve had all year. As it turns out, Justin Bieber is apparently really smart. He revealed in an interview with Martha Stewart for the upcoming August issue of Interview Magazine that not only did he make it through high school without dropping out, he casually graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Stewart recently ripped on Bieber at his Comedy Central roast in March, but of course, it was all in good fun. In their recent interview, the 21-year-old artist opened up to the lifestyle guru about his upcoming album, which he promises will be “very personal.”

The gods have spoken – Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are back in action. First of all, can you believe it’s been seven years since these two last made a movie together?

Thankfully, the duo is back and playing two sisters who return to their hometown to discover their parents have sold their childhood home. While furiously cleaning out their bedrooms, they decide to throw a good ol’ high school rager and invite all the people they probably hated from ages 14-18. It’s scheduled to hit theaters this Christmas, but it’s never too early to mark your calendars for these two goddesses. Watch the trailer for Sisters above.

And the movie gods continue to speak. Our all-time favorite Jennifer Lawrence is officially back in action in her newest 20th Century Fox movie, Joy. From the director of Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, “Joy is the wild story of a family across four generations centered on the girl who becomes the woman who founds a business dynasty and becomes a matriarch in her own right.”

And get this – Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper are both on board too. If Joy is even close to as good as Silver Linings Playbook was, it’s guaranteed to be a favorite this year. Check out a sneak peek of the movie above.

Last but not least, Netflix, our favorite go-to streaming site, is hitting members with another heavy original series this summer. Narcos, a multi-layered and multi-faceted series, aims to tell the true story of the U.S. and Colombian efforts to battle the Medellin cartel during the cocaine-fueled drug wars of the 1980s. After watching the trailer, there’s no way we’re missing this one. Check it out yourself and get ready to binge when the series premieres on August 28, 2015.
