An Oakland resident was shopping for groceries while black and got attacked by a security guard. Apparently, the victim was attempting to use an EBT card to make his purchase, when he got into an argument with the cashier. An eyewitness says, the victim was not “shouting,” “violent,” or “disruptive,” but that didn’t stop a security guard from beating him “bloody.” [Complex]
Texas Deputy Darren Goforth was shot and killed while at a gas station one week ago. The late 47-year-old, who was in uniform at the time of his death, was shown an overwhelming amount of love this week, as over ten thousand police officers went to his funeral to pay their respects. [PEOPLE]
