While these days it seems like having a full Outkast reunion again is near impossible, they once almost took over the Super Bowl and we didn’t even know it.

During an interview on The Dan Le Betard Show on ESPN, Big Boi actually revealed that the duo was asked to perform during the Super Bowl halftime show, but they ended up turning it down.

He implied that it would have been for the 2004 halftime show, which brought the infamous Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction moment.

It turns out that Andre 3000 wasn’t too fond of the league trying to cut down their hit songs to make their performance fit in more tracks.

Big Boi told the show, “[Andre] didn’t want to cut the songs; he wanted to do the full songs. He said, ‘Nah, can’t do it.'”

He also revealed that he did try “a lot” to change Three Stacks’ mind, but he wouldn’t budge on it. He does have hope for the future though, explaining, “hopefully, they invite us back.”
