Social media has turned breaking up into a gray area. Do you unfriend or unfollow? What’s the protocol for that? Since Facebook is constantly evolving, the company has now instituted new tools that will help limit what you see about your ex.
Now – if you choose not to – you won’t have to see his/her name pop up in your News Feed, nor will it appear on your all-too-accurate suggested friends recommendations. Facebook announced they were making the change to ease breakups within your social media life. “We hope these tools will help people end relationships on Facebook with greater ease, comfort and sense of control,” Facebook said.
If you want to remain friends, everything you post will be limited for your ex to see. So those new #datenight status updates? He won’t even know about those.
