Afros have been a thing for decades, but ever since Beyonce‘s “Formation,” it seems as though a lot more people are embracing their “baby hair and afros.”
Four-year-old Farouk James is one of the best examples of a baby rocking his natural ‘fro, and just how amazingly dope it can be. The London native caught the attention of many through his Instagram account, which is run by his mother, Bonnie. The account shows James being adorably fly and showing off his kinky cool curls.
Bonnie often shares a few tips for parents with curly-haired kids, since James is way too young to know his maintenance routine. She told the Huffington Post, “My top tip for parents who have children with curly hair which is prone to dryness and knotting is to sleep on a silk or satin pillow case [to] prevent the hair from losing moisture, drying out and getting split ends.”
She added, “My second top tip is to spritz a little Moroccan argan oil on the hair 30 minutes before washing. This will smooth out the strands by releasing the knots and avoid water absorption.”
