14-Year-Old CEO Imani Henry Is Changing The World One Book At A Time

This young CEO’s name is one you will want to remember. At the age of only 10 years old, Imani Henry started a non-profit organization, called 100 Men Reading, to promote literacy development in her community.

Although the primary goal of 100 Men Reading is to reinforce the importance of reading daily, it also provides mentorship. Through Henry’s initiative, Delaware youth are paired with positive male role models who assist them with their reading needs.

Born with a rare medical condition that affected her eyesight, Henry struggled to learn how to read. However, the love and support from her father and brothers helped her overcome.

“I know how hard it was for me to learn how to read when I was 5 years old,” Henry said. “So I had an idea to develop the 100 Men reading program; men all over Delaware can help make a huge difference.”

Now at 14, Henry has been honored by CNN for her efforts and continues to shine in all of her #BlackGirlMagic glory. Someday, the young philanthropist would like to invite President Obama to read to the youth of Delaware.

Henry is an inspiration to us all and truly exemplifies Black excellence. So, we’re sure Obama should be calling her any day now.
