Following news of Alton Sterling‘s death at the hands of police in Baton Rouge, the actor and activist took to Twitter to put those justifying the actions of the cops in their place as only he can:
If the tweets look familiar, it’s because they’re the same ones he frequently posts when a Black person dies as a result of police brutality.
Unsurprisingly, his mentions are flooded with hateful responses, but Williams remains unafraid. It is becoming clear that Williams’ speech at the BET Awards was not just lip service. He is willing to put his reputation, and perhaps even his own safety, on the line to make sure we all #StayWoke.
