There’s solidarity in numbers, and R&B crooner Miguel has officially joined the movement.

Despite touring overseas, Miguel decided he couldn’t stay silent any longer and recorded a heartfelt new song titled “How Many.” According to the Cali crooner, he recorded this song in the wee hours of the morning in his London hotel room.

Miguel wrote on his personal Soundcloud page:

“This version was started (written/recorded) here in London in my hotel room between the hours of 4am and around 7am when i passed out. ill update this song every week until its complete. Please feel free to share. #blacklivesmatter.”

“How many black lives? how many black lives? how many heart beats turn into flat lines,” sings Miguel. “How many black lives does it take to wake the change.”

Miguel is just one of many celebrities to speak out against police brutality. If you’d like to see Miguel perform this song live and abroad, catch him on his “Wildheart” tour.
