Movie heads, we’ve got another hip hop biopic coming our way.

According to TheJasmineBrand.com, a movie about the life of DJ Quik is in the works. Though there aren’t many details available, the site does report the deal has already been inked. A source also mysteriously commented, “Quik has a fascinating story that a lot of his fans and the general public doesn’t know about. He’s legendary in hip hop and it’s the perfect time to tell his story.”

DJ Quik (Born David Marvin Blake), 47, got his start back in the early ’90s. He’s known for songs like “Tonight” and “Born and Raised in Compton” off his Quik Is the Name debut album. His nickname Quik came from his gift for producing new music in record time.

DJ Quik’s biopic will join other recent hip hop biopics like All Eyez in Me (the story of Tupac) and Straight Outta Compton (the story of NWA).
